Michael Divinity and his co-stars have announced a new reality series, titled Hookers, that will explore hookers in the 1990s.
The show, which will be taped on the Sunset Strip, is being produced by the Discovery Channel, with the intention of showcasing the work of Michael Divinity, a performer who has been known for his role as the voice of Hookers character Joey.
The channel has enlisted Michael Divinity as a co-executive producer on the series, which he will be directing.
“My goal with Hookers is to show the work that Michael Divinity did in the 80s, and the impact he has had on the way people look at sex in the last 20 years,” said Michael Divinity.
“The way people view sex in this country is so different from the way we look at it 20 years ago.
This show will be the first chance to bring this work to a wider audience.”
The series will explore the history of sex in America and the world through interviews with the leading figures in the industry.
The team behind the series will also have interviews with some of the most famous hookers of the ’90s, including the aforementioned Joey and his fellow co-star, Liza Rowe.
Michael Divinity will also be a consultant on the project, which is expected to premiere sometime in 2019.
“I’m excited to be able to bring Hookers back for a second season,” said Divinity.
The new series will be produced by Discovery Channel in association with Lionsgate TV, which has previously collaborated with Divinity on projects like The Legend of Tarzan, The Legend Of Zorro, and many others.
The first season of Hooks will premiere on Discovery in 2018.
The original series aired on Discovery from 1992 to 1999.
In addition to Joey, the show’s co-creators, David Gans, Mike D’Angelo and Steve Gans will be back for the second season, along with executive producer Jason Wargo.
The series also stars Christina Hendricks, who will be seen as the main hooker in the series.
“This new series is a collaboration between Discovery and Lionsgate Television, who have been in close partnership with Discovery for years,” Discovery TV president and CEO John Gergich said in a statement.
“Michael Divinity is a pioneer in the sex industry, and we’re thrilled to be working with him to bring his work to the next level.”
